Reporting to the Director, Capital Governance and Investments, the advisor is responsible for financial monitoring, control, and reporting of PSCs, and monitoring capital budget envelopes for the entire corporation.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for financial control of capital projects: Make log entries at the end of the month.  Plan, approve and monitor PSCs. Analyze monthly results and prepare an executive summary. Participate in the development of the budget and financial forecasts.
  • Responsible for financial control of the corporation’s various capital budget envelopes: Participate in the development of capital funding requirements for the five-year plan and follow-up with the various departments.
  • Responsible for the financial review of business cases for capital projects, the approval process, and the post-mortem analysis and financial closure of projects: Evaluate revenue and cost projections in collaboration with various departments and project managers. Analyze various metrics to assess project success and performance.
  • Ensure the improvement of tools and system (Oracle costing) for the financial monitoring of projects: Become the “Power User,” participate in improvement projects and maintain the system.
  • Actively participate in the documentation of various processes and guidelines in collaboration with the corporate projects management group and ensure compliance with the organization’s capitalization policy.

 

Requirements: 

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in commerce or administration. 
  • Minimum of five years of experience in budget monitoring and financial analysis in a medium- to large-sized enterprise. CPA or MBA designation.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint) and Project Costing EBS.

  • Excellent knowledge of the Excel software. Knowledge of PowerQuery/PowerPivot an asset.
