Reporting to the Senior Manager, Capital Governance, the advisor is responsible for the financial monitoring, oversight, and reporting of capital projects, as well as for tracking capital budgets across the entire corporation.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Manager of Financial Control for Capital Projects: Post journal entries at month-end. Plan, approve, and monitor capital expenditure plans (PSCs). Analyze monthly results and produce an executive summary. Participate in the development of the budget and financial forecasts.
  • Manager of Financial Control for the Corporation’s Various Capital Budget Allocations: Participate in determining the capital funds required for the five-year plan and in monitoring progress across the various divisions.
  • Participate in the quarterly capital project prioritization process with the Senior Capital Governance Manager. Analyze the various initiatives and ensure, among other things, compliance with accounting rules. Prepare the summary table of available budgets for prioritization. Participate in various meetings.
  • Ensure the improvement of tools and systems (Oracle Costing) for the financial monitoring of projects: Become the “power user,” participate in improvement projects, and maintain the system.
  • Actively participate in documenting various processes and guidelines in collaboration with the corporate project office team and ensure compliance with the organization’s coding policies.

 

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

 

  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in business or administration.  
  • At least 5 years of experience in budget monitoring and financial analysis at a medium- to large-sized company. CPA or MBA designation.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Knowledge of Power Query and Power Pivot is considered an asset. Knowledge of EBS Project Costing.
