Reporting to the senior manager engineering, the electrical engineer will be responsible for configuration changes to rolling stock and the refurbishment programs of electrical, electronic, and instrumentation & control systems. They will also serve as an intermediary between various stakeholders, such as workshop personnel, procurement, and operations, providing technical support.

Responsibilities:
• Design improvements to railway equipment (preliminary design, schedules, time and material estimates, engineering documentation, etc.);
• Enhance the efficiency and reliability of electrical and control systems, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and programming;
• Oversee the deployment of solutions (coordination of activities, acceptance testing, liaison with contractors/suppliers and workshop personnel, etc.);
• Provide technical support to various departments (technical review of tenders, safety protocols for design, etc.);
• Develop and ensure compliance with maintenance and operating standards for electrical and electronic systems;
• Work on a variety of electrical systems on board train cars such as HVAC, doors, electrical power transmission, refrigeration systems, lighting, communication systems, monitoring, toilet systems, and circuit protection against freezing.
Requirements:
• Holder of a university degree in electrical engineering;
• Registered member of the ``Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec``;
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrical engineer;
• Experience in designing, analyzing, and modifying electrical circuits or systems, and preparing required documents for production (bill of materials, electrical diagrams, technical specifications, maintenance procedures);
• Experience in electrical (power) controls, electronic controls, and communication systems;
• Proficiency in AutoCAD computer-aided design software;
• Strong command of the Microsoft Office suite;
• Excellent ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing (English and French).
Assets:
• Experience with railway rolling stock or heavy transportation equipment;
• Experience with electro-pneumatic doors and steps, electronic push-button systems, and their control systems;
• Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems;
• Experience in the reliability of rolling stock (trains, vehicles, etc.);
• Familiarity with systems such as Lanka, Wabtec, IFM, Witronix, and others.
