In this position, you will uphold regulatory compliance and extend the lifespan of rail equipment in order to ensure safety and reliability and prevent service disruptions. You will also be responsible for engineering design and for providing hands‑on supervision in implementing solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Devising structural inspections and designing repairs (calculations, drawings, instructions, etc.)
- Designing improvements to rail equipment (design, timelines, time and material estimates, engineering documentation, etc.)
- Supervising the implementation of solutions (activity coordination; acceptance tests; connecting with consultants, contractors/vendors and shop floor personnel, etc.)
- Providing technical support to various departments (technical review of tenders, design safety protocols, etc.)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering;
- 10+ years of experience in engineering, with 5 years specializing in structure (transportation industry, an asset);
- General knowledge of mechanics, structure, welding, metals, etc.
- Solid experience in technical project management.

- Bilingualism (French and English); oral and written.
- Ability to act with independence and initiative in recommending solutions
