VIA Rail is searching for a Financial Advisor with experience in financial analysis and modeling, Oracle Business Suite, and Hyperion Cloud. This person should be comfortable manipulating large data sets with Excel or Smartview, and creating ad-hoc dashboards or presentations for management or the Board.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Financial Advisory Services, the Advisor will be the Super User of the Oracle GL Module and Hyperion Cloud, and will participate in various enhancement projects for the accounting systems.
As the Super User of Hyperion, the Advisor will have a key role in supporting other team members during the quarterly year-end outlook and budget processes.
The Advisor will also be responsible for analyzing and consolidating headcount data (monthly, year-end outlook, budget), and therefore needs to have strong knowledge of Excel and Power Query/Pivot to create informative dashboards and reports as needed.
Responsibilities:
Super User Oracle eBusiness Suite (EBS) (General Ledger module (GL)):
• Maintain Chart of account (Account/Center/Combination), with appropriate approval;
• Maintain Reports and participate reporting improvement;
• Participate in the Month end process;
• Approve and control Access.
Super User Hyperion Cloud:
• Support during YEO and Budget process;
• Support PSGR Revenues Budget process;
• Maintain all Dimensions;
• Maintain Reports, data information and participate reporting improvement;
• Approve and control Access;
• Run calculation and generate diverse reports.
Produce various reports, dashboard, presentations and analysis (Month end and Ad hoc):
• Running the Financial reports;
• Running and consolidating the Financial Analysis reports;
• Gathering information and requirement, and produce diverse presentation for Management and Board;
• Perform data validation, performance and trend analysis.
The Advisor will be requested to participate in various improvements projects of the financial systems that will require knowledge in Excel, PowerQuery/PowerPivot, Smartview, PowerBI, and experience in working with large data set. They will:
• Ensure to implement and maintain data modeling best practices;
• Utilize existing tools to highlight possible improvements;
• Participate actively all projects regarding Hyperion and Oracle;
• Generate and consolidate Headcount monthly results variations compared to budget, year end outlook, and previous year's;
• Support Headcount Dashboard creation, and ensure data accuracy, and perform data validation.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 6 years in an Analyst position;
• Bachelor of Business administration (business analytics or other related field);
• CPA Certification;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (POWER QUERY and POWER PIVOT) and Microsoft Office suite;
• Knowledge in Oracle Business Suite and Hyperion Cloud (PCMCS and PBCS);
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office O365 including Teams or other collaboration software;
• Fluency in English and French (oral and written).
