The industrial engineer is responsible for developing innovative solutions to align current maintenance practices with the plan required by the manufacturer of the new fleet. To ensure that the solutions align with productivity objectives, the engineer will work closely with employees and managers throughout the diagnosis, development and implementation phases. You will be responsible for:
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Facilitating stimulating work sessions with cross functional teams at all levels;
- Identifying and mapping modernized work methods and processes;
- Modifying the layout and configuration of maintenance centres so they can service trains of different generations while ensuring operational safety and efficiency;
- Being a change agent, relying on communication and steady support to ensure the smooth transformation of methods and culture within a matrix project structure.

- To optimize building layout and operations to meet efficiency objectives;
- To achieve budget and productivity targets while reducing health and safety risks to a minimum;
- To contribute to transforming the operating philosophy through the implementation of a continuous improvement program;
- To maximize the engagement of employees affected by the transformations.
This position is right for you if you have:
- A bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, automated production, logistics operations;
- 6 years of experience in industrial engineering in a large corporation’s unionized maintenance centre;
- Leadership and persuasion skills • Strong knowledge of continuous improvement models (Lean, Black Belt, Six Sigma, etc.);
- Project management experience in connection with a major transformation (an asset) • The ability to manage flexible schedules and changing deadlines;
- Bilingualism in English and French (spoken and written).
