VIA Rail Canada Inc., a leader in passenger transportation in Canada, is currently seeking Locomotive attendants to work at our Montreal Maintenance Centre (MMC) located in Pointe St-Charles.
As a Locomotive Attendant, you will be responsible for the safe movement of locomotives and train consists in and around the confines of the Montreal Maintenance Center. You may also be asked to perform general cleaning and other related duties. You must be willing and able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
Training:
-Approximately six (6) to eight (8) weeks of training.
-Training is conducted throughout the three(3) work shifts (day, afternoon, night).
-The training is provided in French.
-You must successfully complete the training to obtain a position.
Schedules:
-Permanent position, 40 hours per week.
-Mainly night shift and weekends (day and evening shifts exist but are less common).
-Two (2) to three (3) days off a week, depending on the assigned schedule.
Hourly Rate:
Qualified Locomotive Attendant rate: $36.27/hour
Starting Date : October 6th, 2025
-Possess a High School Diploma.
-Possess a valid driver’s license. (Class 3 is an asset)
-Be willing and able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
-Be willing and able to work variable schedules (Our Maintenance Center is operational 365 days a year, 24 hours a day).
-Possess related experience and meet the physical requirements of this position.
