Reporting to the Supervisor, Finance Expertise Centre, the PMO Officer will act as a resource person to the Project Management Office (PMO) project team for transactions involving financial/procurement functions and processes (Procure-2-Pay). They will be responsible for transactions in the Oracle system while processing and resolving complex requests and issues that stem from the project team when assistance is required with the financial process. They liaise with the appropriate people to obtain the information needed to solve problems.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Analyze complex requests (requisitions, submissions, contract amendments, etc.) and conduct daily follow-ups to ensure processing as quickly as possible while ensuring that governance is respected and applied. They will provide support to the Project Management Office (PMO) client department for the evolution of files while collaborating with stakeholders at every stage, from budget request to invoice payment. They identify the actions to be taken in financial processes and understand the impacts of these actions;
  • Provide support to the project team for Oracle transactions involving Procure-to-Pay functions and administrative processes. They will proactively identify potential issues and offer solutions to resolve long-term billing issues. They analyze past due invoice reports and identify actions to be taken;
  • Act as a resource person for team members and provide a link between key departments.  They will answer questions and advise colleagues.  They collaborate on analyses, tests and the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Requirements:
 

  • A college degree in Administration, Finance or Procurement, along with six to eight years of experience in an administration, finance or procurement function. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered;
  • Advanced skills with the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel;
  • Knowledge of Oracle an asset.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills;
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, issues and requests from internal customers in a timely manner;
  • Ability to integrate continuous improvement concepts into daily tasks according to the department's requirements and objectives;
  • Ability to navigate various systems while guiding and explaining processes to users.
