As a Product Owner, you are responsible for defining the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Maximo system, with a strong focus on optimizing enterprise asset management capabilities. You work closely with business units to ensure the product meets the needs of customers, employees, and partners, while aligning with VIA Rail’s short-, medium-, and long-term business objectives.

While you will also support Reservia in a consumer role, your primary responsibility remains focused on Maximo.


Responsibilities

  • Product Vision & Strategy: Define and communicate a clear vision and strategy for Maximo, aligned with VIA Rail’s overall business goals. Develop user stories that reflect real-world use cases.
  • Backlog Management: Prioritize and maintain a well-structured product backlog that reflects the most relevant features and improvements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders across marketing, sales, customer service, and IT to gather requirements and ensure strategic alignment.
  • Agile Practices: Work closely with the development team in an Agile environment, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Customer Focus: Collect and analyze feedback from users, stakeholders, and market research to continuously improve the Maximo system and enhance user satisfaction.
  • Roadmap Planning: Build and maintain a product roadmap outlining key milestones, upcoming features, and enhancements for Maximo.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 8 years in a similar role.
    • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Maximo.
    • Strong background in enterprise asset management solutions.
  • Languages: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French.
  • Asset: Experience in transportation or tourism industries.

Key Competencies

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role, ideally in asset management or transportation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven decision-making approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Deep customer orientation and passion for delivering exceptional user experiences.
  • Project management experience, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Adaptability to shifting priorities and dynamic environments.
  • Assets:
    • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
    • Familiarity with reservation systems, software development, and relevant technologies in the transportation sector.
