As a Product Owner, you are responsible for defining the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our various products they are signed to ensuring that it meets the needs of our customers, Employees, Distribution partners and aligns with our short, medium and long term business objectives. They work closely with the business units to help build the product evolution strategy and roadmap, ensure functionality gaps are quickly assed and corrected. They are responsible of ensuring proper change management and support for new functionalities are planned to offer optimal launch process.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Product Vision and Strategy: Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for the Maximo platform aligning it with the overall business objectives of VIA. Rail. Create detailed user stories that describe the features from the user’s perspective.
  • Backlog Management: Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring that it is well-organized, up-to-date, and reflects the most valuable features and improvements.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including marketing, sales, customer service, and IT teams, to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business needs.
  • Agile Practices: Work closely with the development team in an agile environment, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Customer Focus: Gather and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders, and market research to continuously improve the Reservation System and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Roadmap Planning: Create and maintain a product roadmap that outlines key milestones, features, and enhancements for the Maximo plateform.

 

Requirements: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8 years experience in a similar role.
  • Experience service offering for Transportation and tourism industry an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both French and English.

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role, preferably within the transportation or travel industry.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to elevate the conversation to meet the directors/executive audiences
  • Customer-Centric: Deep understanding of customer needs and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Project Management: Experience in project management, including planning, execution, and monitoring of projects.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Agile Methodologies: Strong understanding and experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban (an asset).
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with reservation systems, software development, and technology trends relevant to the transportation industry (an asset).
