POSITION

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Quality the incumbent performs quality inspection and audit of rail equipment (cars). He will contribute to various continuous improvement initiative and implementation of quality department procedures.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and Perform inspection on rail equipment;
  • Manage and follow up non-conformance until resolution;
  • Manage and contribute to various continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment maintenance operational efficiency in maintenance facilities;
  • Ensure non-conformances identified are rectified with the implementation of corrective actions following NCR process;
  • Produce and update various audit and qualification reports with KPIs for general report;
  • Support QC inspectors and QA programs.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

  • Secondary 5 or baccalaureate in quality, mechanics, industry or similar discipline;
  • 5-10 years experience in a similar role (railroad and/or VIA Rail equipment knowledge is an asset);
  • Experience on implementation of Kaizen quality tools;
  • Experience on dimensional measurement process, classical tools and CMM;
  • Good knowledge on reading drawings, geometrical dimension and tolerancing (GD&T) ASME 14.5;
  • Strong computer knowledge, in particular Microsoft Word, Power Point, Microsoft Excel;
  • Bilingual (oral and written), with strong competencies for technical writing;
  • Available to travel on an occasional basis;
  • Mainly on day shift, but could work on evening and night shifts.
