Reporting to the Network Planning & Scheduling Manager, the Coordinator will be responsible for managing and updating train schedules, equipment configurations, and reservation system settings to ensure operational continuity and customer satisfaction. Coordinates with key stakeholders across Operations, Customer Experience, Marketing, and Revenue Management. Maintains and enhances backend systems, including seat maps, routes, and service offerings. Provides on-call support for the Operations Control Center outside regular hours.
Responsabilities:
- Implements both planned and ad hoc schedule and equipment updates, including changes to frequency, timetables, stopping patterns, train IDs, and equipment configurations within VIA’s reservation system. The role also involves adjusting route connections, blocking accommodations due to equipment issues, and managing crew space. Maintains a focus on maximizing customer satisfaction while protecting revenue;
- Liaises with key stakeholders, including Operations, Customer Experience, Marketing Communications, Call Center, Equipment Maintenance, and Revenue Management, regarding adjustments and their associated impacts within the reservation system;
- Responsible for maintaining the back end of our systems, including passenger car seat maps, car diagrams, routes, SSR configurations, creation or removal of station stops, and service offerings. Actively contributes to enhancing the reservation system by testing updates and supporting future developments and improvements;

- Serves as on-call support for the Operations Control Center outside regular office hours, providing assistance and guidance as needed to ensure continuous operational continuity.
Requirements:
- College degree in tourism or business administration;
- Six to eight years of experience in the transportation industry;
- Good understanding of VIA's network and operations, an asset;
- Knowledge of reservation systems, either in the hotel, cruise, airline or bus industry. Strong knowledge of MS suite;
- Ability to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders within the corporation;
- Quick learner and self-starter who has the ability to work both independently and within a team environment;
- Communicates information on timely basis to limit any potential negative impacts on the operations or clients;
- Strong analytical skills, with ability to comprehend impacts on clients and internal stakeholders, and react accordingly;
- Has strong organizational skills and is deadline-oriented, with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy;
- Excellent written and verbal proficiency in both official languages (English/French).
