The Senior IT Analyst is responsible for requirements management, business process design and analysis for complex and strategic IT projects impacting multiple cross-functional stakeholders. They then translate the business requirements into technical specifications for systems development (or configuration), design and implementation. The Senior IT Analyst will also integrate business analysis and project management proven methodologies, as well as technology to recommend and implement solutions which address business needs.
Responsibilities:
Requirements and process management:
- Lead requirements elicitation sessions in IT projects and get consensus and business approval on requirements elicited during workshops;
- Conduct field interviews and meetings with stakeholders and SMEs to clarify and document specific business needs, business rules and current/future state processes;
- Develop and maintain deep understanding of business processes and operations to ensure accuracy of business requirements and alignment of solutions to operations context;
- Support project teams during all project life-cycle (Initiation, Definition, Design, Development & Test and Launch);
- Work in collaboration with change lead and change champions to provide required inputs for change management strategies and plans;
- Work in collaboration with Architects and other IT Analysts to refine requirements and identify impacts on current processes and systems impacted.
Documentation:
- Based on the preliminary analysis and the solution architecture, document operational specifications and various requirements (Operation Functions, Data Structure, Technical Requirements, User Stories, Data Migration Requirements, Interfaces Connectivity, etc.);
- Document and present to business SMEs and/or vendor current state processes impacted by the project and work with key players to define future state process documentation.
Test management:
- Actively participate in test strategy, plans, execution and test results in coordination with test lead and business SMEs to ensure compliance of the solution with business needs and requirements;
- Analyze the feasibility of technical options.
Support and Evolution:
- Support deployment activities related to updates, upgrades and patches in a hybrid continuous deployment / traditional change management mode.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent education and/or experience;
- More than 10 years of relevant experience;
- Is available to travel (20% of the time);
- Fluent in both Official Languages.
Competencies:
- Good knowledge and experience in Agile & Scrum methodologies;
- Proficient with requirements management and facilitation techniques;
- Proficient with process modelling and/or process improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, BPMN, etc.);
- Good understanding of data modeling;
- Certified Business Analysis Processional (CBAP) certification (an asset);
- Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment;
- Keen attention to detail and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities;
- Acts with integrity;
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment;
- Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language;
