Reporting to the Director of Real Estate Assets Projects, the Senior Manager, Real Estate Project Management, will manage a team of Project Managers for the Maintenance Centres & Stations’ sub-portfolio, and contribute to nation-wide major Programs and Projects.
The Senior Manager, Real Estate Project Management oversees all aspects of assigned projects throughout their lifetime to ensure that they are completed in accordance with scope, quality, schedule and cost and in accordance with the requirements defined by the business units.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate the Maintenance Centre & Stations’ sub-portfolio project execution by prioritizing approved initiatives to ensure operational continuity and lower the maintenance deficit.
- Review internal client and stakeholders needs;
- Optimize requests based on operational needs;
- Participate in the Prioritization planning;
- Participate in the 5-year plan forecast and realization, including development of Portfolio Roamaps;
- Allocate resources based of the team’s capacity and expertise.
Manage a team of Real Estate Project Managers that will execute CAPEX projects (Maintenance Centers & Station).
Proactively manage change requests related to scope, schedule, or costs. Identify key project issues and risks and act as a leader to address them. Initiate the management of an intervention/mitigation plan if required.
- Review proposed annual list;
- Coordinate project execution with employees;
- Review forecasts, schedules, and planning with employees;
- Compare progress against plan and ensure compliance with scope, schedule, and costs while ensuring the completeness and quality of all deliverables;
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths;
- Review and approve technical documentation (Service Order Form, Change Orders, Business Cases, etc.);
- Participate in by-weekly meetings with PCO;
- Participate in preparation & presentation of Monthly Sub-Portfolio Management Committee;

Perform project management duties for various CAPEX projects across Canada (Stations and Maintenance Centers)
- Act as the Project Manager of specific projects;
- Deliver project review and updates to the Real Estate group;
- Patriciate in by-weekly meetings with PCO;
- Be accountable for the scope, financial and schedule aspects of specific projects.
Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to internal Real Estate stakeholders and internal clients.
- Provide support to colleagues;
- Provide advice to stakeholders and other project lead;
- Provide support to Major Programs PMO leaders & Project Managers when required.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- University degree in Engineering, with 8-10 years of relevant experience (or equivalent);
- Fluently bilingual (French/English);
- Working knowledge of building systems a definite asset;
- Knowledge of Heritage laws and Obligations in a Railway environment a definite asset;
- In-depth knowledge of PMI (Project Management Institute) processes;
- PMP certification or relevant experience in managing a project office a definite asset.
