Reporting to the Manager, Facility Management, you will be responsible for managing preventive maintenance with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), organizing working groups, supervising unionized employees, monitoring progress, applying occupational health and safety regulations and complying with collective agreements in force.
You must possess solid planning, stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills and be able to efficiently solve issues in the workplace. The ideal candidate possesses managerial courage and active listening skills and is passionate about coaching, training, developing and supporting team members to help our corporation fulfill its mission.
The candidate selected will be focused on preventive asset maintenance and client operational needs. You will need to be flexible and agile in order to get the most out of your team. You should also be a natural leader who strives to inspire employees to adapt in a context of great change so that they take ownership of their work in a context of continuous improvement and achieve better results.
Responsibilities:
- Setting performance objectives and overseeing the preventive maintenance management program; recommending improvements to existing methods and programs to increase work productivity and efficiency, as well as system and equipment performance.
- Collaborating with supervisors responsible for maintenance and upkeep of rolling stock to set timelines and coordinate maintenance and upkeep work for assets under the responsibility of the Facility Management group to maintain the MMC’s regular operations.
- Delegating work to employees, monitoring progress and providing constructive feedback over a project’s lifespan; evaluating maintenance system performance, motivating team members and devising strategies to increase productivity.
- Resolving work quality problems, issues between employees and other concerns in an effective and timely manner.
- Properly using management systems in place to ensure that employees comply with company policies and that maintenance and repair work is done according to the Maintenance Centre’s quality standards and in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Drafting technical specifications for service agreements and supervising work done by specialist contractors; handling equipment acquisition, invoicing, the work order log, hours worked and employee training needs.
- Promoting and strengthening a work environment that is focused on individual health and safety, the protection of company assets, loss prevention and environmental protection.
- Promoting employee skill development and a cohesive work environment for employee groups under the supervisor’s responsibility.
Requirements:
- College diploma (DEC) in electronics engineering technology, building services technology, or any other relevant degree.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in construction project management and physical asset maintenance management.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising unionized staff.
- Solid experience working with a computerized maintenance management system.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in both French and English.

- Strong leadership skills; managerial courage, active listening and ability to work as part of a team; good time management, solid administrative skills and ability to make informed decisions quickly and under pressure.
- Versatility; solid organizational, planning and problem-solving skills; ability to directly lead multiple projects while meeting deadlines and staying on budget.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), databases and enterprise systems such as SharePoint, CMMIS system and Oracle.
- Available to work outside regular working hours during maintenance shutdowns.
- Available to take emergency calls outside regular working hours.
