The Intelligence Analyst supports the assigned unit by producing security intelligence analyses that identify patterns and trends related to persons and locations of interest. The role involves collecting, analyzing, and transforming intelligence data to support operational planning, investigations, and strategic decision-making for corporate security. Using the intelligence cycle as the primary methodology, the analyst responds to targeted information requests, anticipates stakeholder needs, and tailors analytical products to operational realities, social and criminal trends, as well as time and resource constraints. The position includes conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, providing primarily tactical and operational support, along with a strategic contribution.
 

Responsibilities

Security Monitoring & Risk Analysis :

    • Continuously monitor security systems, data feeds, and analytics dashboards to detect anomalies, suspicious activities, and potential vulnerabilities.
    • Perform trend and pattern analysis on security incidents to identify systemic risks and propose preventive measures.
    • Utilize advanced analytical tools to assess threat intelligence and provide actionable recommendations to mitigate risks.
    • Develop monthly security information bulletins for awareness (classified and unclassified)
    • Collect, collate, analyze, prioritize, research, and disseminate data from a wide variety of complex data sources through a systemic analytical intelligence cycle process

 

Incident Management, Reporting and Analytics & Strategic Support :

    • Oversee the end-to-end security incident reporting process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with corporate standards.
    • Validate and consolidate incident data from multiple sources (IMS, RMS, Marshal reports) within strict timelines.
    • Support incident response by gathering evidence, conducting root cause analysis, and preparing detailed post-incident reports, for leadership and regulatory purposes.
    • Prepare comprehensive security reports, Intelligence briefings, threat assessments, network analysis, dashboards, and presentations for senior management and security advisors.
    • Provide data-driven insights, vulnerabilities, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and risk mitigation initiatives.
    • Respond to ad-hoc analytical requests from leadership, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of information.
    • Design and maintain Business Intelligence solutions utilizing Microsoft Power BI, dashboards, Web Apps, etc. in accordance with good practices, standards, and guidelines

 

Operational Compliance & Governance :

    • Ensure adherence to security policies, procedures, and reporting protocols across all operational teams.
    • Conduct regular audits of security operations, including Marshal deployment, activity reporting, and incident documentation.
    • Maintain and safeguard governance documents and centralized security data, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and compliance with data protection standards.

 

Training, Awareness & Continuous Improvement :

    • Assist in designing and delivering security awareness and training programs for Marshals and other stakeholders.
    • Monitor the effectiveness of security protocols and recommend enhancements based on lessons learned and industry best practices.
    • Stay current on emerging threats, regulatory changes, and technological advancements to strengthen the organization’s security posture.
    • Research new and evolving analytical techniques and software products; provide knowledge updates and technical support to other analysts/software users as required.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years work experience with the majority of work in a public safety, emergency services, police or protective service environment.
  • Pass Secret Clearance process
  • Experience conducting data analysis leveraging relational database, geographic information systems, applied research methods, evaluation of qualitative and quantitative information and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience working with and analyzing large quantities of structured and unstructured data
  • Experience developing evidence-based solutions to inform
  • Proficiency in using security management software and BI reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of security protocols, risk assessment methodologies, and incident management processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Bilingualism.
  • Certification in Criminal Intelligence Analysis. (an asset)
  • Experience working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software, such as ESRI ArcMap and/or ArcGIS Pro. (an asset)
