POSITION:
Reporting to the Senior Master Planner, the Fleet Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and executing production plans to meet the maintenance program objectives, service level requirements, and project needs. This role works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to monitor progress, address risks, and optimize the use of resources, space, and equipment while ensuring rolling stock availability. The Production Planner plays a key role in ensuring that planning decisions are supported by timely, accurate, and relevant data. Identifying risks, monitoring execution, and enhancing visibility into rolling stock availability and resource utilization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and coordinate maintenance activities by preparing schedules, monitoring task progress, analyzing resource constraints, and collaborating with production teams to ensure operational targets are met and risks are addressed.
- Analyze maintenance and production data to identify trends, highlight deviations, and recommend planning adjustments to meet operational targets and strategic objectives.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards that track operational performance, equipment status, and key planning metrics. Ensure data accuracy and timely updates.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of planning tools, dashboards, and reports (e.g., CMMIS, Power BI, Excel, Interal, WinProd) to enhance visibility and decision-making.
- Prepare analytical reports and performance summaries to support senior management. Provide data-driven input to support forecasting, simulations, and capacity reviews.
- Participate in planning meetings and collaborative forums to provide insights, raise risks, and contribute to short- and long-term planning or identifying corrective actions for plan variances.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in operations management, data analytics, engineering, or a related field, or at least 3–5 years of experience in an operations or planning environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong expertise in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, automation).
- Experience with analytical tools such as Power BI, Power Query, and Maximo (or equivalent systems) is an asset.
- Bilingual (oral and written).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work across teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, operational environment.
- Adept at creating Standard Operating Procedures.
- Proficient in establishing and tracking Key Performance Indicators.
