VIA Rail is seeking a Parts Store Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Toronto Maintenance Centre (TMC) Store. Your Role

As Parts Store Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for managing the TMC Store operations efficiently, cost-effectively, and with a strong focus on environmental responsibility. You’ll lead a team of 7 unionized employees across 3 shifts, ensuring optimal service delivery and fostering a safe, productive, and respectful work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily store operations, ensuring balanced workload distribution across shifts
  • Manage staffing: approve timesheets, schedule vacations, coordinate training, and handle disciplinary matters
  • Ensure compliance with collective agreements and foster positive union relations
  • Optimize inventory management using Oracle and IBM Maximo systems
  • Lead cycle counts, stock rotation, and safe handling of chemicals and gases
  • Standardize and document store processes for consistency and efficiency
  • Monitor and improve KPIs to drive performance
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners on projects and audits
  • Develop and present continuous improvement plans to senior management

What You Bring

  • College diploma in Technology or Administration
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in store or inventory management
  • Solid understanding of logistics and transportation (courier, LTL, TL)
  • Proficiency in Oracle and Maximo systems
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage unionized teams and resolve operational challenges
  • Customer-focused, results-driven, and adaptable under pressure
  • Availability for shift work and occasional travel
