As an Electrician for Via Rail, you will perform electrical duties on locomotives and passenger cars, including our HVAC equipment. You will have the overall responsibilities of all electrical equipment, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and lighting systems.
You will install, repair, and replace electrical controls and panel boxes, test and measure voltage, loads, ground faults integrity of circuits for all electrical equipment.
You will also conduct preventive maintenance programs.
The position is permanent (40 hours per week guaranteed) and the work schedule may vary (day, evening, night, weekend, and holidays).
Candidates must be available to work any day of the week as the Maintenance Center is open 7 days a week, 24 hours, during peak season.
The work location is the Vancouver Maintenance center (with the possibility to work in our mission maintenance center)

Evening shift differential: $1.50/h
Night shift differential: $2.00/h

Requirements:
A Red Seal in Electricity
Previous experience with troubleshooting and electrical equipment
Excellent teamwork skills and strong problem-solving abilities
Availability to work different shifts (days, evenings, nights) including weekends and holidays
Assets:
Qualifications or experience in electromechanics and/or HVAC
A professional or technical degree in refrigeration
Having completed an industrial electrical apprenticeship
