Reporting to the Senior Director of Accounting Operations, the Analyst, Accounts Payable is responsible for identifying and analyzing issues, proposing solutions to complex problems, and ensuring training and communication to achieve desired changes. He/She is responsible for producing and analyzing various reports, as well as the recommendations and action plans that result from them. He/She provides support to supervisors, analysts, managers, and users from other departments. He/She prepares and analyzes various statistical reports and dashboards related to accounting operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Assurance and Communication

  • Develops analytical reports, validates their content, and ensures follow‑up.
  • Responsible for coordinating internal and external audit work, including control follow‑up.
  • Responsible for producing and analyzing management and statistical reports for the department.

 

Systems and Processes

  • Documents and escalates issues requiring decisions related to policy application and participates in developing appropriate change‑management plans.
  • Participates in testing and controls required when system changes are implemented.
  • Participates in the implementation and integration of various projects, including project‑related and process‑related testing.
  • Develops, improves, and maintains reports and dashboards for management.

 

Projects and Initiatives

  • Develops documentation for accounting operations.
  • Leads the implementation and integration of various improvement initiatives within the team.
  • Supports change‑management initiatives and provides training and coaching to managers, professionals, and unionized staff.
  • Ensures follow‑up and measures results of initiatives and improvements.
  • Acts as a resource person, offering support to users from other departments and within the team.

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or Operations.

  • Strong knowledge of general accounting and year‑end accounting processes.

  • 6 to 8 years of experience in task management, prioritization, and process review within accounting operations.

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Power BI, and strong aptitude for systems related to accounting operations.

  • Knowledge of Oracle is an asset.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, analytical mindset, and ability to play a key role in change management.

  • Demonstrates initiative and proposes solutions to complex problems.

  • Flexible, with strong and proven abilities in process improvement and quality control.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both official languages.

  • Demonstrated analytical skills and rigor.

  • Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines.

  • Proven ability to develop performance indicators and use tools such as Power BI.
