The Coordinator of Strategic Partnerships will have a key role in leading the planning, execution, and management of VIA Rail partnerships including commercial and brand partnerships that will generate more visibility and revenues for VIA Rail, and for non-profit or charitable organizations that fit into VIA’s strategic plan priorities such as Social Inclusion, First Nations, Sustainability, Official Languages, and Local Community Support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Activation and execution of partnership initiatives:
- Lead contact with the various partnership organizations and the activation agency;
- Plan and execute partnership campaigns and activations;
- Coordinate the administration and logistics for events, promotions, and other partnership initiatives;
- Maintain communication with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth project execution.
Partnership Strategy:
- Coordinate the partnership and sponsorship strategy to enhance consumer engagement and drive sales in collaboration with the Commercial team;
- Support the development of a partnership strategy that reflects VIA Rail’s strategic plan priorities in collaboration with Human Resources, Communications, Public Relations, and Strategy teams;
- Develop, maintain, and reinforce partnership and sponsorship guidelines to support teams in choosing the appropriate organizations;
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for partnership opportunities;
- Identify potential partners and industry trends.
Partnership Management:
- Help monitor and report on partnership performance, gathering insights for future initiatives;
- Organize and maintain partnership documentation, including contracts, reports and the ownership of the partnership monitoring tool;
- Manage a dedicated activation budget, including invoicing;
- Administer all in-kind requests: vouchers, gift cards, and contractual agreements.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field;
- 2+ years experience in coordinating within a marketing department or advertising agency;
- Strong organizational skills, and attention to detail;
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams;
- Strong organizational and project management skills;
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Proficiency with Sponsorium an asset;
- Available to work evenings and weekends when required.
